Build a baseline before optimizing
The best competitive settings are the ones that make important information easy to see and repeatable actions easy to control. Begin with a stable frame rate, clear visual hierarchy, comfortable input, readable audio cues and a field of view or camera that supports your role. Record the baseline before changing it.
For a MOBA such as League of Legends, prioritize camera speed, minimap readability, cast controls, target selection and clear team-fight effects. A setting is useful only when it supports the decisions the game asks you to make; a copied number without that context is just a different default.
Test one change with a real question
Change one variable, keep the rest of the setup stable, and test it across several normal sessions. Ask a specific question: can you acquire targets without overcorrecting, read the important effect sooner, keep camera control during pressure, or act without fighting your keybinds?
Do not evaluate a new setting only by your best highlight. Track common actions and mistakes. If a lower visual option improves performance but hides information you need, it is not an automatic upgrade. If a sensitivity feels fast in warm-up but breaks precise control in matches, return to the saved baseline.
Keep settings connected to practice
Choose two core champions and one situational backup. Track early last hits, first recall timing, avoidable deaths, and your arrival time to major objectives. VOD review is most useful when it stops at the first decision you could change; later mistakes often grow from that earlier tempo loss. Build one correction for the next session instead of a long list you will not remember.
Lock the setup long enough to learn it. Use the sensitivity converter for supported mouse-aim games, the crosshair studio for a readable starting point, and your own replay review for the final decision. Hardware, role, posture and preference mean there is no single perfect configuration for every player.
