Set the smallest stable deadzone

A deadzone ignores small stick movement around the center. Too little can create unwanted camera or movement drift; too much can make small corrections feel unresponsive. The useful value is the smallest setting that remains stable on your controller.

Browser readings are a starting point. Games can apply axial, radial, inner, outer, and response-curve settings differently, so confirm the final value in a controlled in-game scene.

Three-step check

  1. 01

Connect the controller and move both sticks through their full range once.

  2. 02

Reset the resting peak, release the sticks, and wait several seconds.

  3. 03

Start just above the measured drift, then confirm small corrections and full movement in game.
