Why the same FOV number can look different
Some games label horizontal FOV, some label vertical FOV, and others keep a fixed reference aspect ratio. That means copying the number alone can produce a different visible result on another game or display.
A wider view adds peripheral information but makes distant targets appear smaller. Use the calculator to understand the conversion, then validate target visibility, motion comfort, weapon model, and performance inside the game.
Three-step check
- 01
Confirm how the game labels FOV and which aspect ratio it references.
- 02
Convert the value before comparing screenshots or settings.
- 03
Test real engagement distances and motion comfort before keeping the change.
