Meta explained
Meta is shorthand for the game around the game: what strong players select, what they expect opponents to select, and how teams respond. It changes with patches, maps, discoveries, and tournament results. Popular does not always mean optimal for every rank or team; execution and comfort can outweigh a small theoretical edge.

Why the term matters
Separate patch facts from community interpretation. A good guide explains why a choice is strong and what would make it weaker.
Use it correctly
Competitive language is most useful when it makes the next action clearer. Give the location, timing, or resource state needed to support the term. Avoid using shorthand as a substitute for a complete call when teammates need more information.
