IGL explained

An IGL may call the opening plan, react to information, manage pace, and coordinate economy or resources. The exact role differs by game and team. Leadership does not mean one player speaks continuously; effective systems let teammates communicate urgent information while the IGL turns it into a shared decision.

Example call
“Our IGL called the rotation after the lurker confirmed the site was clear.”

Why the term matters

Good calls are specific, timely, and executable. Teams improve faster when they distinguish information, suggestion, and final call.

Use it correctly

Competitive language is most useful when it makes the next action clearer. Give the location, timing, or resource state needed to support the term. Avoid using shorthand as a substitute for a complete call when teammates need more information.
