Best-of (BO) explained
A best-of-one (BO1) has one game or map. A BO3 is won by the first side to two; a BO5 by the first to three. The format affects variance, map veto depth, stamina, and adaptation. Some games use sets inside matches, so always read the organizer’s rulebook.

Why the term matters
Longer series usually reward adaptation and depth, but they also introduce fatigue and more opportunities for momentum shifts.
Use it correctly
Competitive language is most useful when it makes the next action clearer. Give the location, timing, or resource state needed to support the term. Avoid using shorthand as a substitute for a complete call when teammates need more information.
